Phase 2
60 Hotel Rooms & Entertainment Area

Following the resounding success of Phase One, our client presented us with an extraordinary new challenge: to buy the road that separated the existing building from another property they owned on the opposite side of Victoria Road. The full brief was to acquire the road, design the extension, obtain planning approval and complete all construction work in time for the 2010 Soccer World Cup. That gave us just 30 months to deliver the entire project. Impossible? Architecturally speaking, we are not familiar with that word. This was exactly the kind of challenge we thrive on.

What followed was a rewarding journey, and we are proud to say that Phase Two was completed on time and within budget. Once again, we had the privilege of working with wonderful clients and an outstanding professional team.

The new addition introduced a first floor guest swimming pool, which is in constant use, as well as an entertainment area, extra guest bedrooms and secure undercover parking.

Adding to an existing hotel while it remains fully operational requires careful and innovative planning, along with a generous sense of humour from everyone involved. Fortunately, the team had plenty of both.

One of our favourite features is the light screen on the first floor balconies. At night, it casts a soft, welcoming glow that enhances the atmosphere of the surrounding urban space. It is also a gentle reminder of the pride we feel whenever we pass the building after dark.
